REMBRANDT SELF-PORTRAITS
This ongoing series takes Rembrandt's self-portraits as its starting point. It uses my existing process as a way of engaging with paintings that already carry rich cultural histories. Each work adopts the dimensions and colour palette of a different self-portrait, but the image itself is never recreated. Instead, the paintings emerge through poured paint interacting with found objects, gravity and time. The Artist in his Studio (1626), 25x32cm, acrylic on canvas. 2026
